The National Association of Home Builders has just published their monthly First American Improving Markets Index and San Diego is on the list. The list is made up of metro home markets that have seen improvement over the most recent 6 months.
The index uses employment, housing prices and building permits for homes to measure improvement. The latest employment numbers for San Diego have shown improvements over the last several months. As well, asking prices for San Diego have been going up for the last 6 months and building permits have been going up since May.
All of the factors combine to reflect not just a stabilization of San Diego’s housing market, but actual gains in the market.
