A recent article in the San Diego Business Journal by Mike Allen sites gains in the economic indicators for San Diego for the second month in a row. December saw gains in building permits, reduction in unemployment claims, increase in consumer confidence index and an increase in job advertising point to a more positive 2012.
San Diego still has some issue to overcome, the real estate market being one, but a gains in indicators for both November and December show more optimism for 2012.
On the real estate front, I am seeing an increase in serious buyers. I am getting more inquiries from prospective buyers and my recent open houses have been very well attended. I find that buyers recognize the combination of low housing prices and low-interest rates combine to make this a great time to buy a home.
Available housing inventories are down which make this a great time to sell a home as well. The limited inventory means sellers will see more traffic and have fewer competitors for buyers. They will also find that replacement homes are very attractive as well.
